Why Open Access

Open access refers to the unrestricted access of information through digital media where users are generally allowed to reuse and redistribute the information under the particular license system for a non-commercial purpose, provided the original authors are given due credit for their contribution.

Along with the traditional subscription-based publishing model, the Open Access model gained great acceptance and applause due to its unlimited access allowance which, in turn, allowed millions of readers to upgrade their knowledge. The Open Access publishing model benefits different sections of society including students, researchers, academicians, doctors, patients, entrepreneurs, publishers, and the public in general.

Open access ensures that students get access to the best possible educational materials and are not limited by financial constraints or to scholarly journals provided by their schools. Researchers receive higher visibility for their work through Open Access and are also aided in avoiding duplication and ensuring that research is able to reach all quarters.
